Brazeau Loop, Rocky to Sylvan

Route Details: A great day of riding through miles of forested foothills and out to the wide open farmlands with so many great small towns to stop in.

A great loop starting and ending near Red Deer. Heading north of Rocky you will reach the Brazeau Dam area in about an hour. There are plenty of spots to pull off for some pics and it is well worth it to stroll down the trail along the spillway, it is quite impressive especially if they are releasing water. From the dam you continue through heavily forested land to Cynthia and then head dead east to Drayton Valley and cross the North Saskatchewan for the second time. At the Alsike corner turn south on Hwy 20 which will take you through farmland and past the communities of Breton, Bluffton, Rimbey and Bentley (all with their own charm and are worth a visit) and finally straight into the heart of Sylvan Lake where there are many eateries and pubs to satisfy whatever you’re craving. Add a stroll down by the lake with some ice cream and you will have had a pretty long, full day.
