Elbow Falls and Forgetmenot Pond

Route Details: If time is short, this quick ride West of Bragg Creek is loads of fun and has a couple worthy stops to satisfy both your fix of nature and of course riding some great roads.

Bragg Creek is the closest town to the route and the best place to set as a start point (huge parking lot in the middle of town with bike only spots) if you’re meeting other riders. The availability of fuel and a variety of food and beverage options makes Bragg Creek a great place to start and possibly end your ride. To reach your destination ride a couple minutes South on Highway 22 until the T intersection and from there head west on Highway 66. Follow this paved road until the very end of the hardtop (from here the gravel Powderface Trail begins, see route for details) and you will reach Forgetmenot Pond where you can relax for a while or make a quick u-turn and head back the same way you came and will soon find the parking lot for the Elbow Falls day use area on the south side of the road. This is a busy place because of the close vicinity to the city but it well worth the stop. Once you have had your fill of these two beautiful locations you may want to return to Bragg Creek for an afternoon cup of coffee, baked goods, ice cream or cold beverage at one of the local taverns.
