Nisku to Cynthia to Leduc Loop

Route Details: This route leaves Nisku and zig zags west until you reach Cynthia at which point you loops back through many more small towns finally returning to Leduc on a different set of highways with great scenery going both directions. If you are looking for backroads leading to dots on the map you may have never heard of then this route is for you.

This loop travels west of Edmonton through a bunch of small towns all with a lot of character and of course some perfect small businesses to visit for a bite to eat and refreshments throughout the day. There are a few good spots to grab breakfast before you leave Nisku and once on the road your first destination is either Tomahawk with it’s small town bar and restaurant or Cynthia where the well known hang out Cyn City Saloon is located. You will most likely find groups of motorcycles parked at one or two well known establishments in almost every town along this route. Cynthia is the turn around point and from there you will head south then wind your way back east through many more small towns including Drayton Valley, Alsike, Warburg, Sunnybrook, Thorsby and Calmar. All of which have locally owned eateries, watering holes, coffee shops and other unique businesses that are worth checking out. The route ends in Leduc just south of where you started off the day and if you haven’t had time to stop for a bite to eat I highly recommend hitting up the retro styled Jukebox Diner located downtown.

Highlights: North Sask River Valley
